GERD Symptoms
The following symptoms indicate the presence of gastroesophageal reflux disease:
- Esophageal: heartburn, acid regurgitation, dysphagia
- ENT: coughing, wheezing, burning throat & tongue, ENT-inflammation
- Pulmology: asthma, pneumonia due to aspirations of reflux
- Cardiology: non-cardiac chest pain
NOTE: refer the patient to adequate endoscopy (+biopsy sampling, histopathology) and esophageal function test (manometry, reflux monitoring).
